Couldn’t believe the quality of the photo which came back.. Really clear and colourful. I maybe should have followed instructions a little more carefully as I didn’t leave the icing long enough to dry. The topper survived though – just a little wrinkled round the edges. Entirely my own fault. Im sure I’ll be buying one of these again.

I was asked by our Mothers Union to make a cake to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday this month. Whilst I have no problem with making fruit cakes, I was very worried about the decoration, as when I make a Christmas cake I usually make a snow scene with the royal icing. When I saw this item, I realised that it was the answer I needed. I set up a Word document with a Union Jack in the background and put a photo of the Queen on top and added the birthday message. When I received the Topper I was very impressed with the reproduction. I marzipanned the cake and covered it with a rolled out icing then added the topper. It was easy to remove the topper from the backing and to fix it to the top of the cake. I added some piping around the edges and the resulting cake looked great. My friends in Mothers Union were well impressed. Thank you so much.
